The Award Review Taskforce has been established by the Australian Government to examine and report to Government on two separate but related projects relevant to the Government’s workplace relations reform agenda: the rationalisation of award wage and classification structures and the rationalisation of awards.
The Taskforce consists of a Chairman, Matthew O'Callaghan, and a Reference Group comprising representatives from employer and employee backgrounds with technical expertise in award and classification matters. Members of the Reference Group were announced by Minister Andrews on 23 January 2006 and include Peter Costantini, Greg John, Tony Slevin, Warren Stooke, Andrew Herbert and Nick Wilson.
The Taskforce is supported by a Secretariat located in the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).
The Taskforce has been established as a non-statutory body under the executive power of the Commonwealth.
For more information about the role of the Taskforce see the Terms of Reference.
